Meet the RIces

Meet our Youth Pastors, Justin & Katie Rice. They're both 805 local's, newlyweds, and passionate about our youth!

We asked them a few questions to help you get to know them  Check it out....

'What do you love most about MS & HS students?'

(KATIE)  I love how energetic they are. They have so much potential to grow. To have a place to grow spiritually with their friends is crucial, and I love being able to watch them do that, while leading them along the way.

(JUSTIN) I love the fact that the Next Generation is READY to step up and step out into the world, to discover it for themselves and to make a difference through actions rather than just words, and being able to come alongside them and God in this process is such an amazing honor.

'Besides being 805 Youth Pastors, what else should we know about you?'

(KATIE)  I attended Moorpark College for 4 years- Shout out to Moorpark!  I also do makeup with Mary Kay. I've made some amazing new friends through my team and love what I do!

(JUSTIN)   I have a Bachelor's degree from CSUN in Sociology/Criminology and a minor in Business strategy. I have also taken multiple classes through Life Pacific College in Biblical Studies and am pursuing my Masters in Biblical and Theological Studies/Counseling. Outside of ministry, my dream is to be a world traveling photographer.

'So you guys were just married last July, whats one new thing you've learned about each other in this new adventure?'

(KATIE) One thing I've learned about Justin while being a newlywed is to always be quick to forgive even when you know you're right!

(JUSTIN) One thing I've learned about Katie while being a newlywed is that she likes to decorate the house....a lot.

'What do you guys see for the youth of our area?'

We see God bringing healing to this valley and God is giving them a safe place to come and just be. We also truly believe that God is calling this next generation to stand together, to break molds and traditions we often get stuck in, and to bring a revival of His church....Ephesians 4:1-3 says: "I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace." In a world that is so divided,  believe God wants to use this next generation to be the example of Godly love and unity.
