The intimate fellowship between man and God was broken in the Garden. It was then that mankind started hiding from Him and hiding from one another and many of us struggle with the idea of being fully known! God however has a heart for intimate relationship and He has made a way for us to draw near to Him and closer to one another - Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Christ.
So that we would understand all that is offered to us in His Son, God set up a system of worship in the Old Testament that centered around a movable Tent of Meeting, known as the Tabernacle. This was God's house in the midst of His people as they wandered in the wilderness and it would also be the blueprint for the Temple that would later be built in Jerusalem. It was here that mankind's sin could be dealt with and individuals be reconciled to God. The Lord was very specific in His instructions to Moses for it's design and that was for a reason for the Tabernacle and it's rituals were a detailed picture of Jesus and all that He would accomplish on our behalf.
This study is important for every Christ follower as it is so relevant to our lives and to our walk with God today!
