What To Expect

Visiting a new church can be intimidating

What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit.

Below are some frequently asked questions.

What’s A Service Like?

All of our weekend services are similar, with live worship and practical biblical preaching and teaching. Services last about 75-80 minutes and are Sundays at 9:00 AM & 11:00 AM. You can also watch live online at either 9:00 AM & 11:00 AM on Sundays.

Preaching

We preach Jesus. This means we teach from the Bible, because the Bible is all about Jesus.

Often we’ll go through whole books of the Bible, verse by verse, or a sermon series on a relevant topic. The sermon usually lasts about 35-45 minutes. If you want to hear a sample of the preaching before you come, our message are linked here for your listening enjoyment!

Worship

You may be surprised to hear music that is better than you expected for “church music”.

We have an amazing community of musicians and singers who give their best every weekend to make our worship experiences musically and spiritually amazing. It’s all for one purpose – not to experience a band, but to experience God through our times of singing.

Where Do My Kids Go?

At LC our children’s ministry is much more than “childcare”

We intentionally structure our children’s ministry to help children learn the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in an age-appropriate way. The lessons are fun and approachable and taught by committed volunteers and staff who serve Jesus by serving you and your kids.

If you are a new guest, when you arrive you will be greeted by someone from our Welcome Team at our Welcome to Lighthouse table. Our team members will be happy to escort you to the appropriate room for your child, take you to the font of the line, and get checked in. At the check-in area, you’ll be greeted by a Kids Ministry volunteer or staff member who will help you register your children. You’ll be handed a sticker with your name, your child’s name, what class your child is in, and a number that identifies your child.

For our littlest of ones (infants), we offer our ‘Baby Lounge’ inside the back of the auditorium. This is perfect for nursing mothers and fussy babies. Here you can still be a part of the service while tending to your infants’ needs.

Our Infants – Pre-K have fun in safe and developmentally focused environments where they learn about who God is and how much He loves them. This is available during our Sunday Services at 9:00 AM & 11:00 AM.

Our Kinder – 5th Graders connect in both large and small group environments where they discover: how to trust God no matter what, how to make wise choices, and who they are in Christ. K-5th grade is available during our Sunday Services at 9:00 AM & 11:00 AM.

Where Should I Park?

When you enter the church parking lot, someone from our Parking Team will be directing traffic. We have special spots reserved for our guests, so please watch for an attendant and park in our reserved area. Please follow the instructions of the parking team. We try to structure parking in a way that allows the maximum amount of people to attend our services.

What Should I Wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. In the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.

Am I Expected To Put Money In The Offering?

Giving boxes are located near the connect center and as you exit the sanctuary, and in other convenient locations throughout our campuses. If you’re visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering boxes. If you consider LC your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving. You can give by check or cash at weekend services or any time during the week when you’re on campus, or you can set up an online giving account at LIGHTHOUSECHURCH.ORG/GIVE
